Serco, a prominent provider of public services in North America, has announced the appointment of Melissa Marousek as its new Chief People Officer and Senior Vice President. A U.S. Army veteran with over two decades of HR leadership experience, Marousek will oversee talent management, organizational development, and cultural transformation at Serco.
In her new role, Marousek will report directly to Tom Watson, Serco North America’s CEO, and join the Executive Management team. Watson expressed his confidence in Marousek’s ability to lead Serco’s human resources strategy during a crucial period of growth and transformation.
Extensive HR Experience at Global Giants
Before joining Serco, Marousek held senior leadership positions at both J&J Worldwide Services and Lockheed Martin, where she spearheaded HR initiatives. At J&J Worldwide Services, Marousek served as Chief Human Resources Officer, playing a crucial role in modernizing HR functions and overseeing an $800M acquisition. Her time at Lockheed Martin saw her lead efforts to align business strategy with workforce initiatives, contributing to the organization’s overall success.
Marousek’s expertise in HR across large, diverse, and complex organizations is expected to significantly benefit Serco as it strengthens its workforce and sharpens its focus on employee engagement and retention.
