The GIANT Company Appoints Jennifer Scott as New HR Leader

The GIANT Company has announced the promotion of Jennifer Scott to vice president of human resources. Scott will now be responsible for all human resources functions, including team member relations, learning and development, recruitment, and diversity, equity, and inclusion (DE&I). She will also lead community relations initiatives. Scott will report directly to the company’s president, John Ruane. Her appointment is effective immediately. 

Since joining The GIANT Company in 2016, Scott has been a driving force in advancing the organization’s strategic initiatives. “Jen’s contributions to our business have been invaluable,” said John Ruane, president of The GIANT Company. “She brings deep expertise in human resources and an unwavering commitment to shaping our culture and talent development. We are confident that she will continue to make a lasting impact in her new role.” 

Scott’s career spans roles in state government and private sector positions, including her tenure as director of community relations and charitable giving at The GIANT Company. Before joining the company, Scott worked for Ahold USA, where she served as a private brands sourcing manager, adding to her extensive HR and leadership experience. 

Beyond her corporate responsibilities, Scott is a member of the active local community. She serves on the Middletown Area School District Board and is vice president of the Dauphin County Technical School’s Joint Operating Committee. Additionally, she is a member of The GIANT Company’s Inclusion Council and has been recognized with several prestigious awards, including Progressive Grocer’s Top Women in Grocery Award and the YWCA of Greater Harrisburg’s Woman of Excellence Award.
